Education is one of the core areas of Sisters on Samui’s work. Our Education Program helps children get the support they need to attend school and make the most of their education.
Sometimes, that means helping with school fees. Other times, it is something as simple as the right pair of shoes, a school backpack, a meal, or even a musical instrument.
Between April and June 2026, Sisters on Samui provided THB 210,884 in education support to kindergartens and primary schools across Koh Samui.
But the impact goes beyond this financial support. We are also delighted to share two exciting developments from our Education Program.
Music in Schools
Our collaboration with Samui Summer Jazz, led by SKÅL International, has helped bring more music into the classroom.
Together, we delivered THB 78,000 worth of band equipment to Angthong School in Nathon.
This was made possible through donations from Samui Summer Jazz / InterContinental Koh Samui, Bangkok Hospital Samui, Rockestra Music and Rehearsal Studio Samui, and Sisters on Samui.
Sisters on Samui contributed THB 18,000 towards the equipment.
Music can give children more than the chance to learn an instrument. It can build confidence, encourage creativity, and teach the value of working together as a team.
We are delighted to play a small part in helping these students discover the joy of music.
Growing Our Migrant Education Program
We are also incredibly proud of the growth of our Migrant Education Program.
Thanks to the generosity of some amazing people, the program grew from 4 students to 13 students by June 2026.
A lovely couple who call Koh Samui home made a generous donation that enabled 12 children — 10 Burmese and 2 Thai — to attend kindergarten at Serm Sook School for Semester 1, covering Levels 1–3.
We are also incredibly grateful to the Empower HER group in Australia. Their fundraising has provided enough support to send one Burmese child to school for 12 months.
This gives him the opportunity to start his education at Kindergarten Level 1 with the support he needs.
A Brighter Future Starts Here
Every child deserves the opportunity to learn, grow, and reach their potential.
Through the Sisters on Samui Education Program, we are helping remove some of the barriers that can prevent children from getting the education they deserve.
Whether it is school fees, shoes, a backpack, a meal, an instrument, or a place in the classroom, every contribution can make a difference.
Together, we are giving young minds the best start for a bright future.
