SOWING THE SEEDS FOR LEARNING

Our second Community Gardens project has been to help setup a small educational garden in the Magical Learning Centre for Autistic Children in Koh Samui, encouraging the children to plant and care for seedlings, and to grow their own fresh herbs and vegetables to use for their lunches.

About the magical learning centre

  • A grass-roots not-for-profit co-operative of parents and carers looking after children with autism related learning difficulties. The Centre has no official government recognition and receives no government support. Donations of time, goods and services are always very much appreciated
  • The Learning Centre had had many incarnations and locations over past 11 years but was first formed in June 2009 by Khun Dahlin Ruangaisoon, herself a mother of two children with autism and learning disorders

WHAT WE PLANNED TO DO

  • Identify and clear an area for a small educational garden
  • Show the children how to plant and care for seedlings
  • Grow fresh herbs and vegetables to use in their lunches

THANKS TO EVERYONE FOR SUPPORTING SOS

We appreciate the support of everyone who has donated time and money to support Sisters on Samui this year.  We couldn’t have done it without you.  We hope you will continue to attend our events and support in anyway you can.
