Local Matters – July 2024

In July 2024, Local Matters continued to make a difference in our community. During a visit to Wat Santiwararam School, we met Nong Rung-Anan, a third-grader with poor eyesight who struggled to see the classroom board. Thanks to DUSIT Eyewear Nathon, he now has glasses and can sit with his classmates comfortably.

Bangkok Hospital Samui has generously provided DMP and Mamy Poko baby and child wash, which we have distributed, along with infant formula, to migrant families in need.

Our Red Cross support this month included donating 5kg of rice and adult diapers for 72 care sets, honoring King Rama X’s 72nd birthday. This contribution, worth THB 17,315, was made possible thanks to the dedication of volunteers like Khun Daeng, who tirelessly carried supplies up six flights of stairs.

Even though our #Feedsamui program ended a year ago, we still receive requests for food assistance. In early July, we helped a Thai mother in need with essential groceries, continuing our commitment to supporting those who reach out.
