Local Matters: Helping those in need during tough times

Our Local Matters pledge is to help those in need during tough times.

In March 2026, we met a small family who were homeless and living without access to water or electricity. We delivered pre-loved clothes from our Marketplace for Mum, Dad, and little Nong Jook, along with 135L of water and a solar panel light for nighttime use.

Since meeting them, a kind individual has pledged support to help them secure housing. We will remain in contact with the family to ensure they are settled into their new home soon.

In February 2026, SOS donated THB 6,000 to Samui Rescue Lamai in honour of their leader, P’Pop, who passed away after a long illness. During the Covid period, SOS worked alongside P’Pop to distribute rice to families in Lamai. He was a kind and selfless man, dedicated to helping others. He will be greatly missed. May he rest in peace.

Small actions, meaningful impact in our community

If you know someone in your local area who needs help, please contact us so we can connect with them and see how we can assist. Local Matters is dedicated to looking out for those in need and providing immediate help. This is a program SOS has run since February 2021, making a difference in people’s lives, one case at a time.
